Searching For Resources
At the moment, the Search Engine will search all of my websites so expect most hits to be for the older version of my website until I have completely transferred all the resources over.
I'm presently writing Topic 5 - Calculations and Topic 6 - Acids and Bases (working titles, may change).
At that point I'll be rebranding the App as N5ChemTutor1 and will start charging a modest fee for the App. If I achieve sufficient sales, then I will be able to start on N5ChemTutor2.
N5ChemTutor App (1.4.1) is under review and should appear on App store in next few days.
This included Topic 4 - Structure & Bonding
Good luck to those sitting Chemistry Exams on 8th May!
N5ChemTutor App (1.2.1) was launched on App store.
This included Topic 2 - Atomic Structure and Nuclear Chemistry
N5ChemTutor App (1.1.3) was launched on App store.
This included Topic 1 - Reaction Rates and Investigation Skills

SQA Assignment Guide

Wherever possible, I will keep a copy of the relevant document on this website but you should use the 'Web Link' as your reference. I will also provide a link to the core 'Web Site' to enable you to investigate further to help decide on Validity & Reliability.
The first Video demonstrates a simple 'kitchen' experiment devised by the RSC for the 2013 Global Experiment. It could be 'upgraded' by using more accurate Lab equipment and would be an interesting Planning challenge. The second Video is an excellent reminder of how to set up and perform a Titration.
Other Useful Documents
Researching Chemistry was introduced as part of the Revised Higher a few years ago, though only as an Internal Assessment. A number of the guides produced by LTS and SSERC are still valid but may be 'out of date' in terms of latest SQA regulations. Refer always to the latest Candidate Guides.
The SSERC Vitamin C document is 'work in progress' and has sections that refer to Biofuels (one of the other options for Researching Chemistry) and even refers to Physics (which I believe is a minor branch of Science sometimes taught in some Scottish Schools). However, much of the information is still very useful and I will update the document as and when possible.
